Kara's Gift Guide 🎁 + My Wish List!
I just realized Christmas is two weeks from today as I’m writing this and I kind of started freaking out because I haven’t done ANY gift shopping yet…
So if you’re like me, and you either need suggestions of what to ask for, or you want to give some of these to a nail lover, or maybe you just want to treat yourself (cuz same), this is my paired down gift guide and I hope it helps you (and also me) to start shopping for gifts! Ok let’s go:
Kara’s Starter Pack:
This is a bundle of all of my favorite things that will be perfect for starting to do your nails or client’s nails just like how I do (or if you just want to add some new things to your kit). Everything I use and love, only the good stuff!
Kara’s Courses:
The gift of education!! I recommend gifting either my Basic Gel Manicure Course for anyone who is new to gel manicures or who just wants to really improve their skills/knowledge. OR my Advanced Gel Manicure Course for anyone who is interested in learning how to do trendy Russian manicures or improve their skills! Or, get both in a Bundle!!
I decided to do another sale on courses because I’ve gotten some emails that you want to give these as gifts (I LOVE this idea!!) so I wanted to make sure you could get a discount if you wanted! You can use code GIFT20 for 20% off until Dec 20 :)
If you want to give these as a gift, just send me an email (karanaileditbusiness@gmail.com) with the receiver’s name and email address and I can send them access to the courses instead!
Also - just to note, these courses work for DIY OR Professionals!! The process is the exact same and I have tips in each course to help you with however you are doing nails!
Also also - each course includes the following:
-
A downloadable PDF with a checklist to follow while doing yours/clients nails
-
PDF includes the theory portion of the video which goes over important need-to-know info about the process you’re doing
-
PDF also includes a detailed list with links to every product I use and other products I recommend
-
Video includes a detailed powerpoint presentation so you gain a full understanding of the process & how to use the products & tools
-
A detailed, real-time video demonstration performing the process!
My Go-To Prep Products:
Most of my most used prep products can be found from amazon which is nice because quick shipping :) I made a new collection with my favorite items included here!!
Fun Holiday / New Years Products:
For someone who already has the basics, but wants to get into some trends or start off the year with a fresh slate! I’m dreaming of doing nails like this in january, just like clean and fresh and neutral!! (Ps this is the color I wore when I got engaged, I mentioned it below :))
Favorite Wintery Sparkle Gels/Colors:
Nail Thoughts Flash Top Coat (a non wipe top coat with flash glitter - my recent go to!!)
Nail Thoughts Diamond Flash (metallic silver base with flash glitter!)
Kokoist Icy Clear Water Magnet (my recent favorite barely there magnet gel!)
Kokoist Fairy Veil Chrome Powder (the perfect clear but pearly chrome!)

Favorite Neutral Builder Base Gels:
Honey Tea Base (a true warm syrupy neutral sheer)
Baby Cakes Base (a perfect not too pink, not too brown, not too sheer, neutral)
Favorite Neutral Color Gels:
100% Cotton (from the new Nail Thoughts color drop!! This is like Baby Cakes Base (above) but a color gel!)
I Mean… (a syrupy sheer neutral warm tan sheer)
Yogurt Nail Salmon Coral (a warmer slightly coral slightly brown sheer. I wore this when I got engaged, so it has a special place in my heart!)
Favorite Neutral Color Regular Polishes:
These colors made me fall in love with neutral sheer manicures for real!! They’re the best.
The Queen Takes Her Tea With Milk (a cooler toned neutral, almost mauve, sheer)
Strawberry Scone (A milky pink sheer, but barely there!)
Ps - Use code KARA10 for 10% off at Kokoist and/or Sweetie Nail Supply and code OJKARA20 for 20% off a system at Olive & June!
Hydration PLEASE 💧!
Did you know hydrated nails actually make your manicure last longer AND prevents your nails from breaking? These are some of my favorite hydration products for keeping my hands soft and my cuticles hydrated this winter!!! Fancy smelling/really great lotions are my favorite.
Olive & June Scrub & Lotion Duo (I loooove this duo. The scrub has really small particles in it that exfoliate gently then hydrate with their treatment lotion that is extremely hydrating and not greasy! Both are unscented!)
Kokoist Oil (Probably the most luxurious cuticle oil I own!! They each smell like freshly brewed tea, but really subtle and clean and luxe! My favorite is Jasmine)
Retinol Hand Cream (I looove this one from Goldfaden MD, it almost smells like orange peel, it’s super fresh and extremely hydrating. I use this every time I do my nails, I keep it on my desk. I feel like this is a really nice hand cream with great hydrating and anti-aging ingredients. Almost like skincare for your hands!)
Other Retinol Hand Cream (This one is unscented and I keep it by my bed! Super hydrating and keeps your hands looking fresh and can be used all over your body too, and it’s from Target!)
Favorite Things:
Ok I asked on instagram the other day about what you would bring to one of those “favorite things” holiday parties, basically it’s a party where everyone brings their favorite thing within a certain budget. I’ve never been to one, but it sounds like a such a fun idea, so I was dying to know what people would bring! I made a little round up of my favorite things items + some that you guys mentioned that I could find HERE.
I’m definitely going to be checking some of them out soon!! But, in case you’re curious, here is what I included on my list!
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (another hydration favorite of mine!! I use it on my face & hands every.single.day. I can’t live without it truly.)
Nod Pod Weighted Eye Mask (I am OBSESSED with this, I literally sleep with this every single night and can’t sleep without it. It keeps the light out, but the weights feel sooo relaxing. You can also freeze it and use it for headaches. Ahhhh.)
Nee Doh Nice Cube (The coolest stress ball ever!! It’s shaped like a cube, and no matter how much you squish it or pull it, it goes back to its square shape! It’s so satisfying and great for stress/fidgeting.)
Great Jones Holy Sheet (This is my favorite sheet pan!! I use it for cooking veggies or baking literally anything, but I also love it for cheese boards. I just put a piece of parchment paper down, and I think it looks so cute because it’s pink! It also comes in other colors too!)
I also included the Olive & June hand duo from above, these super cute funfetti sprinkle silicon cooking utensils, and a huge bucket of Maldon salt!!!
What I Want to Buy Myself:
I really want these things lol… Mostly kitchen stuff because that’s my other hobby/obsession beyond nails!
Great Jones x Fellow Kettle (It’s soooo pretty!)
Flamingo Brick of Soap (this is like the biggest brick of soap I’ve ever seen and the minty fresh scent sounds amazing)
Flamingo Roma Heirloom Tomato Candle (I’ve smelled this several times in stores and I reallyyyy need it to remember my tomato garden this winter until it’s gardening season again!)
Big Night Spoon Rest (another piece of tomato merch lol)
Geometry Kitchen Towels (This was on someone’s favorite things list and I’m intrigued!!)
Cyklar Body Wash & Lotion (These look sooo luxe and the scents sound amazing, especially the Bergamot Bond!)
Magenta Magnet Glitter Gel (I thought I got a color like this to use, but I looked at my order and I skipped it :( I’m so bummed, so I want to add something like this to my collection!)
Molly Baz Ayoh Mayo (specifically the Hot Giardinayo - it sounds so good!)
Alright alright I think that about wraps it up (gift joke!). Tell me your favorite thing in the comments if you went or were to go to one of those parties!! I want to hear.
Ok happy holidays and talk to you sooooooon!
PS - don’t forget to pick up a course or two while they’re 20% off!
BYE! :)
